How to make your eyes look bigger, brighter and more awake

This tutorial is going to show you how to make your eyes look bigger and more awake. We have all had those days where we wake up without getting enough sleep and it shows. I love makeup because it allows you to create any eye shape you want from round eyes to cat eyes. I hope this tutorial helps you! Enjoy :)

First step. Concealer is so important to looking well rested. Conceal any dark circles around the eyes and apply an eye primer.  After you have done so, apply a white or peach eyeliner to the waterline. This helps make the whites of the eyes extended more, giving the illusion of bigger wider eyes. Leave the inner corners without the white eyeliner because bringing the white too far can close off the eyes. For everyday, I recommend using peach eyeliner instead because it looks less fake and more natural especially for darker skin tones. If you want a good peach eyeliner that applies well to the waterline, I recommend Stila eyeliner in topaz which can be purchased at sephora.

For this step, apply a sheer peach color all over the lid. It's important to use lighter colors when trying to create the illusion of bigger eyes because colors that are too dark will close off the eye making them look smaller.

Next step, taking a dome shaped brush apply a medium brown color to the outer corners of the eye and on the lower lashline. Do not drag the color into the crease because that will close off the eye. Leaving the darkest color on the outer corners will help define the eyes and give them a rounded shape.

Now take a white eyeshadow and apply it to the inner corners and brow bone. This is best for making the eyes look brighter and more awake.

Next, take a liquid liner and make a very thin line with a small wing on the end. I have a tutorial on how to do a winged liner here.

Next, curl your lashes and apply mascara. This is the single most important step in creating the illusion of bigger eyes because curling the lashes makes the eyes look brighter by letting more light into the eyes and making the eyes look less droopy and more lifted and awake. This will also enhance your natural eye color because the shadow from your lashes will be gone, letting your eyes reflect more light.

And the look is complete! Your eyes should look brighter, bigger, and more awake. Down below I have some tips for smaller eyes, I hope you enjoyed this tutorial! Good luck :)

*DOS AND DON'TS FOR SMALL EYES*

DO: Always apply concealer over dark circles. Dark circles make the eyes look sunken and dull, and by concealing them it will enhance the eye shape.

DON'T: Apply dark eyeliner on the lower waterline, because doing so will make the eyes look smaller. Use white or peach eyeliner instead.

DO: Use a mascara with a dry formula. If you use a mascara with a wet formula, it will cause your eyes lashes to droop quicker and won't hold a curl as
well as a dry formula. Lancome Définicils mascara will do the job.

DO: Apply white or gold shimmer to the inner corners. This will help open the eyes.

DO: Apply matte white eyeshadow to the brow bone. This is important because doing so will draw attention to the highest point of your eyes, making the eyes look more lifted.

DON'T: Underpluck your eyebrows. If your eyebrows are too close together or heavy, it can close off your eyes. Your brows should start where your inner tear-duct begins.
